Lockdown Extension
A building project which started before lockdown, turned into a labour of love for this local couple. An extension to the rear of the house, internal walls removed, and a Velux window added, allowed this space to be instantly transformed.
This beaded solid wood shaker door comes in a range of many colours, so when we presented the customer with our colour swatches and door samples, the Regiment Green and Dove Grey stood out immediately from the rest.
The peninsular area was originally designed facing the opposite way, but a little thought for maximising the working space around the hob run, allowed us to use up a little empty floor area, which still gave us enough space behind the seating to be fully accessible when the seating was being used. This also allowed the communication to flow from all areas of the room. We also used this central space to house an under counter fridge and freezer, creating the perfect hub for the Gin parties!
An informal wooden breakfast bar was a must, complementing the wooden dining table and benches. We also added a bespoke window sill to match the warm tone of the real wood.
A Carrerra Marble laminate worktop beautifully complemented this gorgeous colour scheme. The light colour of the work surface, together with the marble fleck, added a statement to the overall look.
